Newsletter - Winter 2010
Hey there! It’s me again, Big Al! Oh, and I guess I will let my sister say something too, go ahead Annie… she is being shy. (That is OK, because this is my note and I don’t want her to hog it!) As always, we both want to give you a warm, furry hug and say: “Hey… what’s up?!?!”
We want to remind you that Fr. Joe is working on a third book to teach us about the Mass! We – my little sister and I – will be in it, and we can’t wait to share it with you… although, I am still the bigger star! The book will be ready by the Fall of 2010! We’ll keep you in the loop and let know when it comes out! Please pray for us.
What I love about our two prayer books is that they remind me of how I can talk to Jesus! Hmmm, what comes to mind when I say the word “prayer”, oh yea, the Season of Lent which is coming very soon. (First, we get ashes put on our heads on Ash Wednesday to remind us that we came from dust! I think that is awesome!) Annie and I were just talking about what we can do to show Jesus how much we love Him. I will be nicer to my sister… well at least I will really try to be. Another thing that Annie and I are doing is saying extra prayers everyday. (Annie has to remind me to say my prayers, but sometimes, I help her remember, too.)
My buddy, Fr. Joe, will be talking at Immaculate Conception Church in Dardenne, MO on Sunday, March 14. I will be there too. He is giving a reflection about Lent and it starts at 7:30pm! It is called: “That beautiful, messy, holy, painful, important bond that we call: FAMILY.” A Lenten evening with my best friend, Fr. Joe! I will be there to help him out! (He needs me to help spread the message of Jesus. I really like to help him do that!) You can always go to Assumption Parish’s web page for Fr. Joe’s homilies and other talks. Just go to www.assumptionbvm.org and click on “Assumption Online”. You will find his homilies by clicking on “Online Homilies” and other talks on the “Additional Videos” link. (You can also see me, of course, which is probably the reason why you will watch it!)
Hey, Annie and I want to say a gigantic “THANKS” to all of you who for helping us spread the message of Jesus by buying our products or by making a donation to our mission. That is so cool. We love Jesus and… we love you too.
If you haven’t gotten the books yet, they are available at: Assumption Parish Media table the first Sunday of every month after each Mass; Borders Books, Catholic Supply, Back to Basics Christian Books and at Amazon.com. You can even write a review of what you think about our books on Amazon.com. That would be so COOL if you wrote something about what you think of me. (I am so cute, you can write about my looks if you want) Just so you know, if you purchase directly through Gospel Values, more of the proceeds will go towards our mission. Just send an email to gospelvalues@gmail.com for help.
Be sure to check out great articles in the the Liguorian Magazine. I am in there A LOT… oh, and so is my little sister. You can read articles on-line by visiting: http://www.liguorian.org/
Don’t forget to watch me on T.V. If you got TIVO… you can tape it and watch me all the time! (That is what I recommend) You can still watch me every Tuesday afternoon at 4:20pm (CST) on EWTN.
Check out our website. Just go to www.welovebigal.com! You can do lots of fun stuff! You can read more about ME. Check out our coloring pages… yep, you guessed it, you can color pictures of ME. You can read about Gospel Values; make a donation to our mission (this helps us bring the message of Jesus to more people). You can find out more about me and Fr. Joe, Gospel Values and our mission. Maybe you can send a testimonial and tell us what you think, just click the testimonial button on our website. It would be cool if you would also write a review about my books on amazon.com. We would also like to pray for you, too. If you have a prayer request, send it to us and we will prayer for you. My sister likes to help me pray. She is really good at that!
OK, before we say goodbye, Annie and I ask that you think about how you want Jesus to talk to you during the upcoming season of Lent. (Annie and I are asking that we be more loving. Well, I really want to try to be nicer to her, because she really loves me.)
Everybody from Gospel Values, Fr. Joe, Annie, and me… hope that you have a blessed Lent. I will catch you all later! Stay loving… and stay COOL! (Only, no one will ever be a cool as me!)
